Please read this form carefully before signing and sending.

EMERGEANDSEE is here to promote and support students. If you have questions about any part of this form, please email us. EMERGEANDSEE is also referred to in this document as 'EAS'.

As a PDF document: english german

Deadline is 15th April.

1. Conditions for submitting your film

There is NO fee for submission

To submit you must (I) be a current student or (II) have graduated less than twelve months before the deadline.

Work you submit must have been made within the last 12 months.

The viewing copy of your work(s) must be VHS (PAL) or miniDV(PAL). If you send a VHS(PAL) tape and your film is chosen, you will then need to send us a copy on miniDV(PAL). Therefore you might want to save money and time by sending a miniDV(PAL) in the first place.
Please note that due to problems in the past, we don't accept DVDs. It would be a shame to miss out on your film due to technical problems!

After sending this form, you will receive an email stating a number for each film you submit. Please clearly label your tape with this/these number(s).

Please do not send several tapes - compile your films onto a single tape for submission and label the tape with the appropriate number(s).

Maximum three pieces per submission. Maximum length of each film is 10min (Main Competition) or 20min (East-West Special Competition).

If the film is not originally in English then it must have English subtitles and an English translation of the title.

EAS cannot return any material submitted. EAS will not take any responsibility for any loss or damage to entries. DO NOT SUBMIT YOUR ONLY COPY!

Packages sent from abroad must carry the specific declaration: "For cultural use only - no commercial value"

You will be informed if you have been successful or otherwise, within two months after the submission deadline.

If you have not received a response two months after the deadline please email EAS; there may be a problem with your email address.

2. Our commitment

EAS will credit your work whenever it is shown.

You will be informed in advance of every screening by us of your film.

You retain full rights to your work and are free to show it in any manner.

If EAS is approached by a third party (e.g. production company, TV station) who is interested in using your film commercially, EAS will discuss this with you and make an extra contract if appropriate.

3. Your declaration

I am duly authorised to submit this film to EAS.

If I am not the copyright owner I have permission from the owner to submit this film. If the owner is a university or college, they have to send EAS a stamped and signed letter indicating permission and acknowledgement of the conditions set out in this form. You may post the letter with your tape or individually.

I have read and understood the submission conditions and procedures and agree to comply with them in all respects. To the best of my knowledge all of the information I have entered on this form is correct.

I certify that all rights and clearances have been obtained and that this film is not subject to any litigation and is not threatened by any litigation (e.g. music rights).

I will not withdraw the film from EAS after I have been notified of its selection.

I hold EAS harmless from damage of my submission.

I agree that, if selected, EAS will hold non-exclusive rights to my film. "Non-exclusive rights" includes:
EAS may publish, sell and/or give away my film as part of a compilation showreel on any medium.
EAS may screen my film publicly, including on the internet and television.
EAS may use still images from my film for publicity purposes on any medium.

I understand that if my submission does not comply with any section of this form it may be disqualified.
